Hi everyone

I am pleased to advise that I am responding to a number of requests from US, Canadian and Australian citizens who are exploring their UK family history and would like more rootSleuth payment options.  Previously I could only accept payments in GB Pounds via Paypal, personal cheque or bank transfers.

Many of you would like alternatives and would also like to pay in US, Canadian or Australian Dollars, so I have done some investigation and have decided to offer the following additional options to you:-

If you are based in the United States of America:-

  • Services quoted in US Dollars - With immediate effect I am quoting my services in both British Pounds and US Dollars.  This provides my US clients with the benefit of avoiding exchange rate uncertainty by sticking with the good old ‘green back’.
  • Paypal payments in US Dollars - Linked to the first bullet point above, I will also now accept payments in US Dollars via paypal.
  • US Dollar cashiers cheques - I will now accept payment in US dollars drawn upon a US bank as a cashiers cheque and then mailed to me.  A Cashiers Cheque is ideal since it is guaranteed and therefore means funds will clear quickly.
  • US Dollar personal cheques - I will now accept payment in US dollars drawn upon your account at a US bank and then mailed to me.  A personal cheque takes 28 days to clear upon receipt, so this is perhaps the slowest method to make payment, but in some cases the easiest for my clients.
  • Money Order - I will now accept Money Orders from the US made out in US Dollars for the agreed amount.

If you are based in Canada:-

  • Money Order - I will now accept Money Orders from Canada made out in Canadian Dollars for the agreed amount, taking into account exchange rates
  • Paypal Payment - Using a paypal account you can send payments from your own currency to me in British Pounds.  So you can use your paypal account to send me British Pounds. This is a fast method of payment.

If you are based in Australia:-

  • Money Order - I will now accept Money Orders from Australia made out in Australian Dollars for the agreed amount, taking into account exchange rates.
  • Paypal Payment - Using a paypal account you can send payments from your own currency to me in British Pounds.  So you can use your paypal account to send me British Pounds. This is a fast method of payment.

Any Country other than the UK, US, Canada and Australia:

  • Paypal Payments from any currency - Already, using a paypal account you can send payments from your own currency to me in British Pounds.  So you can use your paypal account to send me British Pounds whatever your own currency.  This is a fast method of payment.
